The WorkABility Program helps adults (aged 18+) in Alberta build the skills, confidence, and connections they need to find and keep meaningful employment. Whether you’re ready to start job searching, want to strengthen your skills, or need personalized guidance, our range of services is designed to support you every step of the way.Location: Suite 150 - 707 10th Avenue SW. Who Services are for:
- An adult (18+) living in Calgary, Alberta
- Unemployed or underemployed
- Legally able to work or train in Canada
- Living with a disability and looking for the right support to reach your employment goals
- Ready to take part in employment supports and work toward your career goals
What does "unemployed" mean?
You may be considered unemployed if:

- You’re not working right now and not connected to an employer
- You work fewer than 20 hours a week and are looking for full-time work
- You’ve been told your job will end soon (usually within 6 weeks)
- You have to leave your current job for a medical reason
- You have a disability, work 20+ hours a week, but need more hours or support to stay employed
- You’re a student with a disability or a youth at risk in your final year of high school or post-secondary
What does "underemployed" mean?
You may be considered underemployed if you’re working, but your job is unstable or doesn't meet your needs. For example:

- Your hours are irregular (on-call or casual work)
- Your pay isn’t reliable or enough to support you or your family
- Your job might soon be replaced by technology
- You’re working in a job that’s well below your skill level, with no room to grow
- You have a valid reason to leave your job
How We Can Support You
We know everyone has a different journey to finding work. At WorkAbility, we offer three easy options so you can choose the support that feels right for you. Whether you’re looking for quick tools or hands-on guidance, we’re here to help.
Option 1: Resource Centre (Quick Support When You Need It)
This option is ideal if you feel confident about your job search and mostly want access to tools and light support. What you can use:
- Computers, internet, and other technology
- Help with printing and filling out online applications
- Staff available for quick questions or short guidance
- Access to remote workshops to further build your job-seeking and employment skills
Option 2: Job Placement Services (Structured Job Search Support)
Choose this option if you want more organized help to find a job and feel ready to focus on your job search. What we offer:
- Clear steps to explore job options
- Workshops to improve your resume, interview skills, and job search techniques
- Job Club sessions that offer hands-on learning for essential skills—job search, interviewing, and job retention
- One-on-one support from staff
- Direct connections to employers who are hiring
- You will join a supportive group and take part in activities at least three days a week for 12 weeks.
Option 3: Supported Employment Services (Personalized, Hands-On Support)
This option is helpful if you want more time, support, and confidence-building before you begin your job search. You can choose between two types of support:
A. One-on-One Career Support
Work directly with a specialist who gets to know your strengths and interests. Together, you will:
- Explore what kind of work fits you best
- Build your confidence and skills
- Work with employers to find or create a role that suits your abilities
B. In Motion and Momentum Plus (Group Support Program)
A 10–12 week group program designed to build confidence and life skills in a supportive environment.
What you will gain:
- Skills for everyday life and future employment
- Hands-on activities to help you grow
- Support to build resilience and feel ready for work
- A safe space to learn alongside others
